Why do listing photo dimensions matter?

- The proportional relationship between an image's width and height, written as width:height (for example 4:3, 16:9, 1:1), which defines the shape of the photo. If your photo's ratio doesn't match the portal's gallery frame, the portal automatically crops it to fit.
Listing portals display photos according to their own gallery layouts. A photo uploaded in the wrong ratio gets cropped — often an important slice is cut from the top and bottom or the sides. The most striking corner of your cover photo can disappear exactly this way.
Resolution matters just as much. A photo that is too small looks blurry on large screens, while an oversized file is re-compressed by the portal and loses quality. The goal is to edit and prepare each photo at the right ratio and size before uploading.
What aspect ratio and resolution are recommended?
Although it varies from portal to portal, there is a safe, general starting point: a landscape 4:3 (or 3:2) ratio at roughly 1600–2048 pixels wide. The table below summarises typical recommended values for different uses.

Use JPG for photos; it balances good quality with a small file size and every portal supports it. Reserve PNG for floor plans, logos or graphics with sharp lines. Keeping the file size between a few hundred kilobytes and 1–2 MB is usually ideal for both speed and quality.
What sizes work for sahibinden, Emlakjet and Hepsiemlak?

If you also share your listings on social media, each format has its own ratio. In the Instagram feed, a vertical 4:5 takes up the most space, while Stories and Reels are full-screen 9:16.

How do I export photos at the right size?
Preparing an image at the right size takes only a few minutes:
- Decide on the target platform — portal or Instagram — and pick the right aspect ratio from the table above.

How many photos should you upload, and in what order?

- Follow a logical order: Exterior → living room → kitchen → bedrooms → bathroom → balcony/view.
- Shoot enough: Usually 8–15 quality photos, with at least one sharp shot of every room.
- Avoid repetition: Show different rooms and details rather than near-duplicate versions of the same angle.
- Keep it consistent: Keep all photos at a similar ratio, brightness and colour tone so the gallery looks tidy.
